404 Deep is a feature documentary project about Krzysztof Starnawski - extreme cave diver, speleologist, rescuer and world-record holder whose life has been shaped by an obsessive need to explore places where few others are willing to go.

Living a nomadic life from a van that serves as both his home and diving base, Krzysztof prepares for another pioneering expedition: the exploration of a remote underwater cave in Mexico. It is a world of absolute darkness, where the beam of a torch becomes the only point of reference and every solitary descent depends on meticulous preparation, experience and decisions with potentially irreversible consequences.

But 404 Deep is not simply a film about extreme diving or another record. It is a story about the point at which passion becomes obsession - about the need to keep pushing further and the price of building a life around it. As Krzysztof grows older, another question begins to emerge: what happens when the thing that has defined your life can no longer continue?
